Core & Pelvic Floor Recovery After Birth

NOK 350.00

A practical workshop on core recovery, pelvic floor health & postpartum movement

with Ute Imhof

At Sentralen | July 8 | 11:30–13:30

Pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding, carrying babies, lifting toddlers, sleepless nights — motherhood asks a lot of our bodies.

Many women are told to simply “start exercising again” 6 weeks after birth, but few are taught how to reconnect with the foundation that supports everything else: the core, pelvic floor, breath and postural system.

In this practical and interactive workshop, pediatric and women’s physiotherapist Ute Imhof will guide us through understanding what happens to the body during pregnancy and postpartum, and how to safely rebuild strength, stability and confidence from the inside out.

Together we’ll explore:

• Diastasis recti (abdominal separation) — what it is, what it isn’t, and what actually matters for recovery

• The pelvic floor and its role in postpartum healing

• How breathing, posture and core activation work together

• Common postpartum symptoms including weakness, instability, heaviness, leaking or discomfort

• Safe ways to begin rebuilding strength after birth

• How carrying, feeding and caring for babies affects the body

• Practical exercises and self-checks you can use at home

The workshop will include hands-on guidance and an opportunity for participants to assess whether they are activating their core muscles effectively.

Ute works with a movement-based approach called DNS (Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization), an internationally recognized method that uses developmental movement patterns to restore efficient function, stability and strength.

There will also be time for questions related to pregnancy, postpartum recovery and movement.

As always, babies and toddlers are warmly welcome. Come as you are.

Whether you’re 6 weeks postpartum, 6 months postpartum or several years into motherhood, this session is designed to help you better understand and support your body through the demands of motherhood.

Is this session for you?

  • You still look pregnant months after birth and wonder if you have diastasis.

  • You leak when you sneeze, laugh, jump or run.

  • You feel heaviness or pressure in your pelvic floor.

  • Your back, hips or shoulders hurt from feeding and carrying your baby.

  • You want to exercise again but aren’t sure where to start.

  • You simply want to understand what is happening inside your body after birth.
