Inside The Village:
What We’ve Been Exploring Together
The Village Oslo is still young, but already we’ve gathered for expert-led conversations, birth story circles, community meet-ups, and relaxed coffee mornings around Oslo.
Here are some of the conversations, topics and gatherings we’ve explored together so far.
Birth Story Circle
In collaboration with Doula Morena and Casa Cultural
A gentle and supportive space where mothers gather to share their birth stories and listen to the stories of others. No advice, no judgment, no interruptions — simply the opportunity to be witnessed, heard and understood.
Because every birth story deserves a place to be told.
The Hidden Toxins in Your Everyday Life
With Benedicte Desirée Christiansen
A practical conversation about common environmental toxins found in everyday products and the simple, realistic changes that can help reduce exposure for mothers, babies and families.
Focused on progress over perfection, this session explored the swaps that matter most and how to make informed choices without overwhelm.
Nourishing the Mother:
Plants, Nutrition & Hormonal Wellbeing in the Early Years of Motherhood
With Johanna Lee Rivera
Set in Johanna’s beautiful garden, this hands-on gathering explored simple ways to support postpartum recovery through nourishment and connection with nature.
Together, we learned about traditional herbs such as nettle and lady’s mantle and their role in supporting mothers during the postpartum period. We sampled herbal teas, walked barefoot through the garden, smelled flowers, plants, and medicinal herbs, met the chickens, and even held a freshly laid egg. It was a gentle, sensory experience that invited mothers to slow down, reconnect with themselves, and remember that nourishment comes in many forms.
Birth Preparation Series
Three-part expert series with Doula Morena
A practical and thoughtful series exploring birth preparation, support during labour, and the often-overlooked postpartum period.
Together we explored how mothers can prepare not only for birth itself, but for the transition into motherhood and the weeks and months that follow.
Village Coffee Gatherings
Titt-Tei Café • BonBon Oslo • Community Meet-Ups
Informal gatherings where mothers, babies and toddlers come together to connect, share experiences, ask questions and build friendships.
No agenda. No pressure. Just coffee, conversation and community.
These gatherings have quickly become a favourite way for mothers to meet others in a similar season of life.
Core & Pelvic Floor Recovery After Birth
With Ute Imhof
A practical and deeply supportive gathering focused on helping mothers reconnect with their bodies after pregnancy and birth.
Together, we explored posture, back pain, breathing, core strength and pelvic floor recovery, with Ute offering individual guidance and checking in with each mother throughout the session. We learned simple exercises and ways to connect the breath with the core, while also understanding how postpartum recovery can mirror the gradual way babies develop their own strength and stability.
Babies and toddlers were welcome throughout, and the room held all the realities of motherhood — feeding, movement, play, questions and pauses. It was a warm, grounded session that left mothers with practical tools they could continue using at home.
Fertility as a Reflection of Overall Health
With holistic fertility practitioner Siri M. Kalla
An in-depth conversation exploring the menstrual cycle, fertility as a reflection of overall health, and the many ways pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding and motherhood can influence a woman’s hormones.
With a special focus on postpartum hormonal health, this session helped mothers better understand changes in their cycles, common concerns after birth, and practical ways to support their wellbeing through nourishment, safety and a whole-body approach to health.
Understanding Babies Beyond Words
With Ute Imhof
Eleven mothers, ten babies and one curious toddler gathered with pediatric physiotherapist and award-winning author Ute Imhof to explore how babies communicate through movement, tension, emotions, regulation and sleep. Through discussion, practical examples and individual observations, parents gained a deeper understanding of their babies’ physical and emotional cues.
The conversation was so engaging that the session ran more than thirty minutes over time, with many mothers describing it as eye-opening and deeply reassuring.
Watercolor Workshop for Mothers & Children
With Kasia Wiercinska and Dee Harlow
A relaxed summer morning of creativity, conversation and connection.
Together we painted cards with watercolours, watched babies and toddlers explore colours and brushes in their own way, and enjoyed the rare opportunity to slow down and create something with our children by our side.
There was no expectation of perfection — only space for creativity, community and making memories together.
Flower Crown Gathering
A relaxed summer afternoon of flowers, creativity and connection in Middelalderparken.
Together, we learned how to make flower crowns while babies and toddlers played and participated. We sat under the trees in the shade, shared homemade iced tea, banana muffins, watermelon and melon, and enjoyed the sunshine and gentle breeze.
With both familiar and new faces joining us, the afternoon felt simple, joyful and unhurried — a chance to create something beautiful, spend time together and make a few summer memories with our children by our side.
Understanding Toddlers: Curiosity, Comfort & Agency
With Olive Bieringa & Forest Kids Norway
A relaxed and interactive gathering exploring how babies and toddlers develop through movement, play and connection.
Together, we discussed how early movement shapes lifelong development, and simple ways parents can better support their children’s physical and emotional wellbeing through everyday interactions. Babies and toddlers were free to explore, move and play throughout the session, creating a warm, practical space where learning happened alongside real family life.
