Nourishing the Mother: Plants, Nutrition & Hormonal Wellbeing in the Early Years of Motherhood
What if caring for mothers received the same attention and intention as caring for babies?
Join us for a special summer gathering with Johanna Lee Rivera — a public health professional, women’s health educator, and passionate advocate for helping mothers reconnect with the knowledge that has traditionally supported women through pregnancy, postpartum and early motherhood.
Drawing from her background in public health, women’s health, nutrition, functional approaches to wellbeing, and traditional plant wisdom, Johanna brings together both modern knowledge and practices that women have relied on for generations.
Together we will explore how nutrition, medicinal plants and simple daily practices can support mothers through the transition into motherhood and beyond.
Whether you are preparing for postpartum, navigating the early months after birth, breastfeeding, finding your footing as a new mother, or several years into motherhood and wanting to better support your health and wellbeing, this gathering is designed for you.
Rather than a formal lecture, this will be an intimate and interactive conversation with plenty of space for questions, reflection and discussion.
The morning will also include a gentle walk through Johanna’s garden, where she will introduce some of the medicinal plants she works with, share the traditional roles they have played in supporting women’s health, and introduce us to her beloved chickens as we enjoy a slower and more connected pace for a few hours.
More than a workshop, this is an opportunity to step away from the rush of everyday life, spend time with other mothers, and reconnect with the idea that mothers deserve nourishment too.
Imagine a summer morning spent outdoors, surrounded by plants, meaningful conversation, curious little ones, and women who understand the season of life you’re in.
This is the kind of gathering that feels increasingly rare — and exactly why we’re creating it.
Babies are welcome.
