Understanding Your Toddler: Curiosity, Comfort & Agency
with Olive Bieringa
At Sentralen | July 17 | 14:00-15:00
The toddler years are full of big emotions, growing independence, endless curiosity and rapid change.
One moment your child wants to do everything themselves. The next they need you for absolutely everything.
What if our children could learn to move through the world led by their curiosity, supported by their comfort, and empowered by a sense of their own agency?
Join us for a special gathering with movement therapist and Infant Developmental Movement Educator Olive Bieringa as we explore what is happening beneath the surface during the early years of development — and how we can better support our children through this fascinating stage.
Together we will explore:
How movement shapes learning, confidence and development
The developmental transition from crawling to walking to climbing
The progression and development of our senses
The cycle of self-regulation and emotional regulation
Supporting independence while maintaining connection
Curiosity, comfort and agency as foundations for development
How we as caregivers can re-pattern what we were taught and discover new ways of relating to children — not only because it is healthier and more respectful for them, but because it can be better for us too.
This gathering will include opportunities for discussion, questions and connection with other parents navigating these years alongside you.
Especially relevant for babies and children from first movements through the early toddler years.
We’re also delighted to be partnering with Forest Kids Norway, who are generously helping us create a welcoming, child-friendly play environment for the gathering.
Whether your child is newly mobile, taking their first steps, or already running confidently into the world, you’ll leave with a deeper understanding of development and practical insights you can bring home immediately.
Come as you are. Bring your questions, your child, and your coffee.
