Birth, Support & Postpartum Series

Birth deserves more support than most of us receive

A small, intimate, 3-part birth & postpartum series with Doula Morena

For mothers preparing for birth and early postpartum — first time or not

For pregnant women and (new) mothers
who want to feel prepared, supported, and
not alone going into birth and postpartum.

Join one session or all three:

There is a version of postpartum where you feel supported, held, and not alone. And then there is the version most women quietly experience…

This series is about closing that gap.

Just like there’s a lot of information about birth. What to pack. What to expect. What to do. When to go to the hospital.

But much less about what it actually feels like to go through it — and what kind of support truly makes a difference.

We will explore this in the series.

In three small, guided sessions, we’ll talk about birth, support, and postpartum in a way that feels empowering, honest, and genuinely helpful.

The sessions are held online, so you can join from home, with your baby, in your pajamas and bun, in your own space. Cameras on or off — completely up to you.

You can join one session or all three. Can’t make it to one? Don’t worry — you will have access to all the recordings to watch at your own pace.

You will also have our Village Prep Bundle: Your Roadmap to Matrescence curated digital toolbox, with our guides helping you prepare your hospital bag, prepare for postpartum and newborn essentials.

About Doula Morena

Morena is a trained doula and therapist who works closely with various organizations that are very active in promoting women’s health, supporting women through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum in a holistic and grounded way. She is a graduate of Doulaskolen in Oslo, which has the most demanding doula program, while she continues to take part in many relevant courses, further expanding her knowledge.

Her work sits at the intersection of individual support and broader advocacy. She has been involved in initiatives supporting women from diverse backgrounds, including flerkulturell doula services, and contributes to ongoing conversations around access to better care for mothers in Norway. She speaks fluent Norwegian, English, Spanish and French.

Through her work, she brings both hands-on experience with families and a wider perspective on what support during this phase can — and should — look like.

Her work is rooted in presence, calm, and deep respect for each mother’s experience.

What we’ll explore

This is our first series as we begin building The Village Oslo.

Most women don’t struggle because they’re not capable.

They struggle because they go into this without the support they actually need.

That’s why, across the three sessions, we’ll talk about:

– what support during birth can actually look like

— how to think about your support system before the baby arrives

– how to prepare in a way that feels straightforward, not overwhelming

– what is happening in your body during birth

— what kind of support actually makes a difference after birth

— what most women are not told about postpartum

— what it means to be held, not just helped

Who this is for

This is for you if you are:

  • pregnant and starting to think about birth and what comes after — whether this is your first baby or not.

  • newly postpartum and realizing how much support actually matters

  • wanting a different experience than “just figuring it out on your own”
