Babywearing, Fit Checks & Winter in Oslo 🤍
A practical gathering with Carine from Bæredama
Is my carrier actually fitted properly? Is my baby positioned correctly? When can I carry them on my back? What about forward-facing? And how on earth do I dress them in a carrier when it’s -5°C outside?
Babywearing can be one of the loveliest and most practical parts of life with a baby — but there are so many questions around getting it right.
For this very hands-on Village gathering, we’ll be joined by Carine from Bæredama for a practical session on safe, comfortable babywearing — with time to look at your own carrier, your own baby and your individual fit.
We’ll cover:
How to position your baby safely and comfortably
What a good carrier fit actually looks and feels like
Common fit and positioning issues and how to adjust them
Forward-facing: when, whether and what to consider
When babies can be carried on the back
Babywearing as babies grow
Winter babywearing in Oslo: layers, coats, temperature, keeping baby warm without overheating, and keeping their face and airway clear
A little about babywearing, closeness and regulation
And most importantly, we’ll have a practical fit-check portion, so you can bring the carrier you already use (or have been struggling with ) and get hands-on guidance from Carine.
As always, this is designed around real life with babies. Feed them, change them, walk around, arrive with a sleeping baby, leave with a screaming one There is absolutely no expectation that they sit quietly through the gathering.
About Carine
Carine Hvide Smith, also known as Bæredama, is a certified babywearing consultant, personal trainer and mom of two based in Oslo.
After carrying both of her own children from newborn age, Carine remembers how overwhelming it could feel trying to figure out whether she was actually doing it correctly — including spending hours searching for answers herself. That experience, together with her professional training, is what led her to help other parents feel more confident using carriers and wraps safely and comfortably.
Through Bæredama, Carine offers practical, hands-on babywearing guidance, with a focus on safe positioning, ergonomics and making babywearing work for real everyday life with a little one.
Practical Information
đź“… Wednesday, November 4
📍Sentralen, Oslo
⏰ 12.00-13.30
