Reconnect With Your Body After Birth: A Pilates Session for Moms
A gentle postpartum Pilates session with Vic Kalo
At Sentralen | October 20 | 11:00 - 13:00
After having a baby, it can take a while to feel at home in your body again.
Whether you gave birth a few weeks ago or a few years ago, motherhood changes us. Our posture changes, our breathing changes, we spend hours feeding, carrying and lifting little people… and it’s easy to forget to care for ourselves too.
In this gentle two-hour session, we’ll be joined by Vic Kalo, a Classical Pilates teacher specialising in pre- and postnatal movement.
Together we’ll explore how Pilates can help you reconnect with your core, rebuild strength and move with more confidence while you rock your baby, push the stroller or lift the car seat.
This isn’t about “getting your body back.”
It’s about understanding the body you have now, moving with kindness, and giving yourself a little time to breathe.
As always at The Village, there will be plenty of room for real life.
Babies can feed, sleep, crawl, cry or simply be held.
Toddlers are just as welcome.
We’ve intentionally made this a two-hour gathering, not because we’ll be exercising for two hours straight, but because we know motherhood comes with interruptions. There’ll be plenty of time to pause for feeds, cuddles, nappy changes, or simply take things at your own pace. We will also leave time to talk and for Q&A.
No previous Pilates experience is needed.
Come exactly as you are.
You’ll learn:
• How Pilates can support recovery after pregnancy and birth
• Gentle exercises to reconnect with your deep core and pelvic floor
• How to organise your muscles safely during daily tasks, like rocking your baby to sleep
• How breathing and movement work together
• Simple movements you can continue at home
About Vic
Vic got into Pilates for two reasons.
One. She felt uncomfortable in her new body after delivering her baby boy with a C-section.
Two. She was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes while she was pregnant.
Pilates helped her understand her postpartum body, regulate her glucose levels and build long term strength.
Since then, she decided to leave her 16 years career in Advertising and dedicate herself to spreading the help she got from Pilates to more women.
Vic got her Mat and Reformer certification at Smartbody in Amsterdam and specialised in Pre and Post natal Pilates.
She’s originally from Greece, met her Norwegian husband in Germany and had their little boy in Amsterdam.
You can talk to her in Greek, English, Spanish, French and soon Norwegian.
In 2025 she moved with her family from the cute canals of Amsterdam to the breathtaking fjords of Norway.
Who is this for?
Postpartum mothers, whether that’s a few months or a few years.
Babies and toddlers are, as always, very welcome.
